Wil Maheia is a prominent Belizean activist, conservationist, and politician known for his tireless efforts to protect Belize's natural heritage and advocate for social justice. Born and raised in the southern district of Toledo, Wil developed a deep connection to Belize's rich biodiversity and cultural diversity from an early age.

A significant aspect of Wil's conservation work includes his involvement with the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE). As the former Executive Director of TIDE (Toledo Institute for Development and Environment), Wil played a pivotal role in promoting sustainable development practices and protecting the pristine ecosystems of southern Belize. His hands-on approach and collaborative spirit have helped foster partnerships between local communities, government agencies, and international organizations to achieve conservation goals while promoting the well-being of Belizean communities.

In addition to his work with TIDE, Wil is actively involved in various grassroots movements and organizations dedicated to environmental conservation and social justice. He has been a vocal advocate for indigenous rights, land tenure issues, and equitable access to resources for marginalized communities in Belize.
